7 Januari 2010 - After a revision of our processing chain an improved estimate of the crop yield production is East Africa has been made. In 2009 East Africa was for the second year hit by drought  The situation is most serious in Kenya where yields are expected to be 15-30% below the 5 yr average. Also in Rwanda, Burundi, southern Uganda, mid Sudan, parts of Ethiopia and Eritrea food production was considerably below average. More favorable conditions were present in mid and north Uganda, south-west Sudan and mid-west Ethiopia and southern Somalia, where yields may be 5-10% above average.
